Anyone on here have one? If so what do you think of it?

I've been using one for a little over a year now. To me the system feels lighter and cheaper than the regular slim. But maybe I'm a bit jaded since the controller that came with the system I'm using got screwed up just by trying to charge it using the supplied USB to mini USB cable that comes with every system.

I don't know if it was the connector that was too narrow or what, but it got all sorts of screwed up and took more force than was usually necessary to insert the cable into the connector.

I tried two seperate Sony cables, the one that came with the system and one from a Sony HDMI/charging cable two pack. Neither seemed to fit in the connector without giving it an extra shove.Mad

So within six months the controller wouldn't even charge and the connector was bent on it. I contact Sony and they want me to ship it in on my dime even though it's in warranty.

Now the system itself is making a squealing or fluttering sound when I go to stop certain game discs(GTA V, Midway Arcade Origins and Epic Mickey 2). It doesn't do it if I let the game slow down or stop by sitting the XMB on the friends list portion for 30 seconds to a minute. I already got rid of EM2 because of the fluttering sound.

Sad thing is I'm anal retentive when it comes to taking care of my electronics n my stuff in general, so this sound the discs are making is pissing me off because the system is clean and well ventilated(it's out on a table with nothing around it). I guess it's just that the super slims are a piece of crap or at least this one is.

I wonder if the constant freezing issues a little over a year ago with GTA V/Online have anything to do with the noises the system makes when trying to stop discs. It locked up quite a bit for MONTHS during the time when apparently Rockstar couldn't figure out WTF was wrong that was causing it.

Anyone else have one of these systems? If so, what model and any issues? Mine is I believe a 4001B.

That's seems to be the general consensus among folks with more than one PS3 iteration. I only have the slim so I can comment on the fatboy or the super slim. If the need arises, I'll replace my slim with another slim despite paying a premium for said replacement. That said, I don't even have my PS3 connected anymore. PS4 time yet?

No offense console gamers cannot make judgements on first person shooters...or any game for that matter. The only thing consoles have are sports games.

If anything I may go gaming PC if I decide to upgrade, just because I don't want to have to pay to play online with either an XB1 or a PS4. But even if I eventually do get a PS4 it's not going to be til they're at least as cheap as the PS3's are now($220-250).

You know the sad part is I had a good slim from Amazon's Warehouse Deals but I dumped it back to Amazon for OVER what I paid 3 years after getting it in 2011. I couldn't say no, plus I already had 3 super slims sitting here from various sales and clearances(including one from Sears for $100). So I wanted to try a super slim instead of letting them collect dust any longer.

Within the first year of using it though the one game I played the most(GTA Online) caused it to freeze around 20-30 times within 3-4 months because Rockstar screwed up something and couldn't figure out how to fix it. It would lock up within 15 minutes of starting the game up in some cases. So that too may be part of the reason why it's like it is now.FrownMad

From my own experiences, he uses and abuses the sites he is a member of. He cares about no one but himself. If there's a deal ANYWHERE, he is the person to buy 100x of whatever it is to resell for profit, and usually get the deal pulled or canceled.

He lives near me. A couple years ago, he bought five copies of a game on clearance at target closest to me. Bragged about it here then soon found out the trade value wasn't worth a 'flip'. When I called him on it for being a scumbag for buying out the stock, he PM'ed me and told me he would now purposely return them to a target far away from me so I can't get a copy for myself.
Whine more, please.

It does feel super cheap, I feel like a caveman everytime I have to slide open the disc tray and manually unhinge the disc (otherwise, no other personal qualms). But it looks like any time there's firmware problems being posted online, the problems don't seem to affect the super slims as much as it affects older SKU's (firmware's being tested on PS3 super slims at "Sony HQ"?).

Honestly that's about the only part I really like about the super slim(having access to the actual disc tray). At least if it malfunctions you don't have to rip it apart to get the disc out like with the fat models or use that cog on the bottom of it like on the slims to force the disc out of there.

I don't know why they didn't just go with the pop top lid like the slim PS2's had. That was just fine design wise.

Biggest gripe for me besides how cheap it seems is the vents on the BOTTOM of the console as opposed to along the bottom.
