Great deal for those who need a laptop, for basic things and dislike Windows. I'm still waiting on a 15.4in with dedicated card for under $1600. One day... smh

Can you really see the resolution advantage of this on a 13.3 inch monitor? And this isn't a gaming laptop, right? So what is the advantage of all that resolution on a 13.3 inch screen if not for gaming? It's pretty small for detailed engineering work.

128GB is not enough for a $1000 laptop. Is it upgradable?

Wow Apple is really trying to Liquidate the stock they have remaining. 100% pass Why ? Next Gen model will be out with Skylake Core i5 or Core i7 and DDR4 and Force Touch track pad a new new Butterfly Keyboard

Those updates alone will make the new Version a HUGE upgrade

and between Skylake and DDR4 lower energy use Apple will no doubt improve battery life again

Everything looks crisper (blu ray vs DVD). However, if you don't see the difference b/n retina and non retina screens just get the cheaper macbook air.

Nope, but you can get an external drive.

No, it's not upgradable. If this is your main system then maybe you should consider stepping up to the 256gb version. If that is too expensive then just get a NAS or Cloud enabled external hard drive for your media.

Btw... This laptop can do a bit more than basic things.

Basic things?
I can do bioinformatics research and any type of development on it. Lightroom for photography fly is on it. The only limitation I see for myself is 128Gb SSD. I have a model with 256Gb.

Yo actually get only 1280x800 effective resolution on this due to pixel doubling. That is actually perfect for a 13" screen, but you don't get much space to multitask. The effective pixels look very sharp though.

It's Apple, they charge a huge premium for memory even in their phones.

Thanks, seems completely pointless for my needs. I'll move along.
