Thread Details

I was doing some scouting on the TWC internet only promo page and saw this generic site:
http://www.timewarnercable.com/co...rnet.html/

The deals do not explicitly state new customers only. I was paying $54.99/mo for the Turbo internet and my own modem.

After a call to TWC (585-756-2000 for me), and a transfer to the Retention Dept, I was given the Extreme package for $44.99 for 12 months, fully anticipating they will jack up the rates a bit at the end.

Point being, if you have a lower package and paying the "standard" price, it won't hurt to give TWC a call and see if your price can be renegotiated.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Unless you are receiving a discount, no you aren't.

Please feel free to elaborate though. I'd be interested in that package at that price.

The first year I paid $ 34.99/ month for the extreme 50/5. Then price went up to $50/ month, I called to cancel but they reduced to the price I got now

Unfortunately they don't offer that package for me out here since no competitor comes close to that. Highest I can get is 50/5.

I pay $34.99 for the Ultimate 200/20 combo. I got on the promo last October before my area was upgraded to TWC MAXX, so when they switched over, I got the faster speeds automatically. I don't mind calling every year for the promo pricing.

Same thing I do with SiriusXM and DirecTV anyways.

Repped, 57$ for Extreme with taxes. Was playing 79$, own my modem.. Thanks OP, at first the rep was like I can bring it down to 71$, I said do better, she put me hold for 2 mins, then came back with 57$ after taxes for 1yr. But I already set a reminder on 364th day, call them to renegotiate again. Before they jack it back up.

Probably is actually since I'm paying $34.99/mo for 200/20.

When I moved here (NYC) two years ago, I got the 50/5 for $34.99 for 12 months as a new customer special. After the 12 months expired, they sent me a note saying it would increase to $44.99. I called and asked them to keep it and surprisingly they did so without any pushback.

Another 12 months have passed and they just sent me a note again saying it will increase to $44.99 again. I again called and asked if they could keep the rate the same, but the woman on the phone would at best give it to me for $40 for 6 months. I declined and told them to cancel my plan on 9/1 (moving to a new apt on 9/1).

I'm trying to figure out how to get another 12 months for $34.99. Maybe tweeting them? Any advice? Unfortunately my new apartment does not have any great ISP alternatives
