This is super tempting - I've been wanting to visit Universal Studios since Diagon Alley opened. I don't have a travel partner, though. Hmmm...

Story of my life! So I've been traveling on my own the last few years: Maine, NYC, Thailand, Europe, Belize, Vietnam, etc.

I'm definitely considering the idea! I'll give my friends some time to respond, but if they say no, I might just book it for myself...this is my itinerary:

Flight: Friday, Oct 9th to Tuesday, Oct 13th, $207 RT

It includes Columbus day, which I can take as a floating holiday at work, so that's nice.

Then I'd get the Harry Potter package at Rosen Inn, which is $433 total per person and includes:

4 nights in the hotel
3 days of Universal tickets
Breakfast at the Leaky Cauldron
Breakfast at the Three Broomsticks
Photo session in Diagon Alley
Citywalk Party Pass
Early Park Admission

So about $700 total for the whole trip per person, including taxes and such.

Times like these make me wish I had a boyfriend to drag with me onto trips! haha. I'm open to the idea of traveling alone, but at theme parks, I think it's more fun to go with someone else because so much time is spent waiting in lines. The time passes faster if you have someone to talk with.

EDIT: I just checked, and if I go alone, the price goes way up. Darnit! A trip alone would be about $1,000 compared to $700 if I can get someone to go with me. Probably won't go alone after all...

Nice! Just booked Fri. Oct 9th for 5 nights. $206.20 each. I have a timeshare out there (with availability) and I have a few 10-day non-expiring tickets to the World.
Thanks!

This is a good deal. I just bought 2 tickets in July for Sept 23rd - Oct 4th on Delta - LAX to ORL for $340 each. These are non-stop tickets but for $137 saved on each ticket, i could of dealt with a few hour layover if needed.

Also the Food and Wine festival will be going on at Epcot during Sept 25th - Nov 16th

That's the irritating thing - single prices usually are pretty steep, and I can't talk my friends into leaving their driveway hardly... so I try to do what I can by myself. I'm not sitting home while I could be doing something fun!

I just got back from Orlando Yesterday. 10 Days at Disney World. Was a good time, but I will never go back in the Summer. Never been in Humidity like that, you could swim in it, literally changed clothes 3-4 times a day. And like clock work it rained/stormed everyday from 3:00pm-8:00pm. Sure hope it's better in October.

it is. we have a time share in Kissimmee, and the earliest we have ever gone is October. and never after February Stick Out Tongue

the heat and weather are so much more tolerable those months. and the parks/attractions are actually less crowded too!

I live in Orlando...humidity and tourists can make anyone go crazy at disney. We have seasonal passes and blackout dates just ended now that school is back in session - plenty of visits planned between now and expiration. October - March are the best times to go excluding holidays.

I'll take the heat/humidity over snow any day...you never have to shovel sunshine. Smilie
