"We are creating a new promo for Thursday and will start to discuss it right now here at 5pm psd. We will put thoughts out, listen and decide by tonight 10pm what we will offer."

You can discuss here, but would be better here...

"That’s what we are kicking around at the moment, let us explain:

As always we have restraints, some of which we can’t disclose. We really appreciate you understanding this. This is probably the first time in telecom history that a pricing plan/promotion will be created in a discussion with members on an open forum. I personally like this as it’s a great example of the true community spirit from all of us. Thanks @birdman1 for opening this discussion thread.

So, the first constraint within which we have to work with you is:
What we can give in each promotion is related to how many new members r+ acquires from the promotion (I know it looks like a lack of long-term vision, but bear with us. Again, we can’t disclose where the constraints come from.)

The second constraint, the reason for which we also cannon disclose:

The time limits on promotions in hours (duration of the promotion window) and short notice (not much lead time before the promotion). This promotion will be Thursday, August 27, from 6-9PM PST. And if it’s a success we will be able to repeat it on Sunday, August 30, for 3 hours.

Our first suggestion, to do this together with our members, may look like a bit of a game, but I assure you it is a not a game for us (it just overcomes our two main constraints). See it like a sports team. We have to fulfill certain parameters to go into the next round. It seems like a game for people watching it on ESPN, but it’s real business. The same here. Probably the aspects of sportsmanship from our proposal makes it somewhat entertaining, but business is business. Having a little bit of fun is not discounting anyone (r+ or members). It just that we can do our business with a smile and have fun because it’s a great job.

So we thought about something like this:

1) To not exclude any member, every member logging into discourse and liking a special thread which r+ will open three hours before the promotion, and close at the end of the promotion, will be eligible for the Loyal Member Promotion Benefit.
2) The loyal member promotion benefit will be directly tied to how many new signups r+ acquires within this promotion.
Every five minutes during the promotion we will update you in the thread, which you “liked” at the start, about the progress. Of course you will also be able to comment.

So what we need is a promo to attact new users, and a separate tiered promotion with gives loyal members incentives, as we reach certain subscriber levels during this promotion. This may give us the opportunity to fairly distribute the fruits of this promotion between all of us."

What do you want it to be?

They will announce it at 5pst 8 eastern time then allow feedback to mold the plan the way you want it.

The deal isn't live yet per the title

all I want is Pepper -> VIP Pepper upgrade for my 3 $20 Volts. A sprint hotspot beta would be nice too.

Getting a little fragmented with all the recent R+ threads but this one is pretty urgent I guess. I don't feel like registering over there yet.

I decide to upgrade Free>VIP Pepper Sunday on all lines and now they will probably offer something even better. Can't win. They need to stick with something for more than five minutes.

They weren't interested in my help when they cancelled my service. Bastards.

Actually, if they could promise not to cancel the line after enrollment at the $20 pricing, that wouldn't be too bad. Consider the $20 BYOD charge for starting up on the Freedompop service and RP members should probably consider themselves lucky...

With the frequency of your postings in the RP threads here, you may as well get it over with and register on discourse already. You will eventually laugh out loud

Did you read the thread? That's not the actual promotion. That's just a suggestion by a RingPlus customer for what the next promotion should/could be. The whole point of the thread is to discuss possible future promotions.

If you feel strongly one way or another, why not just state your opinion over there, since that's what they're asking for. They're soliciting opinions.

Huh, you got a Volt for $20? I must have missed an awesome deal. I thought $40 was a good price for that phone!

one of the best price mistakes all year. http://slickdeals.net/f/7840921-virgin-mobile-lg-volt-4g-lte-no-contract-smartphone-20-free-shipping?v=1

I know I should join discourse but I'm afraid my antics may be frowned upon. Bending the rules a bit but then I've given them what they want, more phones and my money. Smilie
