use the following link in incognito, might need to refresh a bunch of times. took me 10-15 tries in chrome

https://www.americanexpress.com/u.../platinum/

100k points after 3k spend. credit to the churning subreddit https://www.reddit.com/r/churning...confidence

refreshing works for some in incognito/private, if that doesn't work open and close new incognito/private tabs each time you try.

go through the todo list once you get your card:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/am...-list.html (the wiki)

$450 annual fee not waived

Additional American Express® Platinum Cards, the annual fee is $175. Each Additional American Express® Platinum Card after the first 3 American Express® Platinum Cards is $175.

If we identify you as currently having an American Express® Card account, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have or have had a Platinum Card® account enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program.

EXPIRED>>>PLEASE CALL TRY CALLING

Benefits: If you spend the $3,000 in the first three months, you get $1,000. Subtract $450 and you just made $550. If you do a lot of air travel, the other benefits are attractive. I think membership to the delta skyclub is $450 alone.

Try this Cardmatch [creditcards.com] tool mentioned at this site, http://thepointsguy.com/2015/07/a...cardmatch/
I was approved immediately.

How to Make up for Annual Fee with Incidental Purchases

Step1: Choose airline https://www.americanexpress.com/airlinechoice. You will get an email re: $200 credit. Select United
Step2: Download MileagePlusX app on your android/iOS
Step3: Open the app and Purchase gift card of your choice in denomination of $100 each, say and
Step4: Sit back and relax, the reimbursement will show in a few days/weeks

Try Firefox Private Mode or Chrome Incognito Mode. I was able to pull it up in Firefox on the first try. Just remember that you can only have the bonus for this card one time only so if you had this consumer Platinum card in the past, you won't get the bonus again.

Thanks OP! I can replicate the deal, however:
If we identify you as currently having an American Express® Card account, you may not be eligible for this welcome bonus offer. This offer is also not available to applicants who have or have had a Platinum Card® account enrolled in the Membership Rewards® program.

I had already taken advantage of his deal a few yrs ago, so of course, can't do it again. Also, as before, the $450 annual fee is NOT waived for the first year.

Yes, but after $20K in spend. $3K is much more manageable. $20K is a lot unless you're a heavy hitter. And even if you are, your bottle neck is probably liquidation, not supply, so then there's the question of opportunity cost.

But remember $200 airfare credit is per calendar year, not cardmember year, so you can offset that effective AF to $50.
