Got this for 19.99 from newegg about 2 months ago. Works much better than the old edimax repeater I had (the larger one with the same model number as this). I had constant problems with the large one, but the new one, takes up less space in the outlet, and also acts as a dim nightlight. For this price it's a good deal!

Ive read that repeaters and extenders often lower the performance of the over all network.
Have you found this to be true in your setup?

I can't say that I've given it rigorous testing, but I will check the speed when I get home.

Interestingly, we are supposed to get 105 Mbps, but with the comcast router were only getting 10 over wifi, which you expect to be slower than ethernet, but really.... I hard wired an airport extreme to the comcast router, and am getting 90 Mbps over Wifi. I haven't noticed a slowdown since hooking up the edimax, but I don't think I'd notice if it dropped 10 Mbps or so...

It will be interesting to find out my current speed from the Airport, and also from the repeater. I'll post the results.

Okay, here you go. The headline is that having an extender didn't seem to affect my main wife speed. In fact, despite only paying for 105 Mbps, I'm getting 175 Mbps. I didn't even think the Airport extreme was capable of those speeds. From the repeater, I'm getting 30 Mbps. So that's still pretty good considering that we just use the extender for phones and tablets.

Thank you for that confirmation friend.
