i was paying 69.99 for 150 chanels and 25mbps for one year.(double play (interent & cable)..now it jumped $20 doing to the promo being over. it went to 109.99

they are running a promotio for 89.99 2 yrs contract (its the best promo they have now they said) for HBO same 150 channels and 75mpbs..is that a good deal..im fed up with comcast...i really hate them even wrote a complaint to fcc..they seem to monopolize eveything and their customer service is atrocious.

so in essence my bill is going to go up not down...$$20 bucks more if i take their current stupid promo

i have chromecast/firestick/netflix was looking at sling tv seems interesting

any ideas?

I never had cable tv in my life and stopped watching tv in 2008 so i'm only looking for a broadband internet deal. Scumcast monopoly in my area so no other options. $67/mo for internet only after the 2nd year is absurd. I'm disconnecting and reconnecting another family member as a new customer. Should go back to $30/mo. If for some reason the cs person who promised to help me backs out i'm pulling the plug. There's nothing else usable and cheap available in my area. My only problem with scumcast is monopoly and nickel diming customers and billing 2 cycles ahead, then promising to prorate and refund when i disconnect service. I recommend reconnecting with another family member if possible - new ss#, credit card. If not, get internet only and use OTA antenna.

I can't stand Commiecast either. We currently have a promo for two years(105/12 internet, digital preferred, HBO) for $86 and change a month. This was after the internet portion of the bill was set to go up from $30 a month after a 1 year contract to pretty close to double that for the most basic speed.

Verizon and Comcast are the only options round here for internet and they know they have you by the short hairs. Verizon pretty much told me to pound sand after they removed the grandfathering on the measly 768 Kbps internet they were giving me for $20-25 a month.

There's really not much of anything I watch that isn't on an OTA station at this point. So the cable portion of the bill could be dropped in a heartbeat. But going without internet? That's unpossible.LMAO I just wish we had more options here.

In the garbage state nj my only option is to move across the street where Cablevision monopolized everything. Verizon fios not available in my zone, dsl 1.5Mb down/700Kb up is pathetic. My ooma depends on fast cable internet but if ooma keeps raising "tax" i'll unplug. For now will switch family members. With verizon i think takes one year to become a new customer. I'll switch names with scumcast again in a year or two if i'm still around and need internet. Another option is limited mobile data. Cheapest $20/256MB LTE lol then tmob $30 or so for 5GB but only 1GB fast speed. The rest is unusable because of very slow speed. I guess i'll have to spend more time outdoors.... searching for wifi lol

I got tired of paying a lot too, from my experience you have to threaten them at you're leaving in order for them to give you a decent deal. I pay $75.00 for about ~100mbps and basic channels. I helped my uncle and he is paying $65.00 for around 50mbps and 150 channels. Though we both use Kodi with Fire Stick so we don't really use the cables.

laugh out loud The one warehouse right across the road from the McDonald's down the hill from me was for sale for a while. It'd be interesting to make apartments in there and leech off Mickey D's WiFi since the restaurant is 24 hours.

I am trying to get a good price as a new customer- internet only standard speed 25Mbps from Comcast. Best I can find is $39.95/month plus fees for a year with one year contract. If you wont sign a contract it is $10/month more. I have called ,walked in, and chatted online with them . Anyone else seeing contract only higher rates now? Also I see data caps have expanded to more areas this month too. My neighbor is on comcast 25 internet only for $29.95 for a year no contract but his is running out. He needs a better deal too but retention offers him only bundles at $60+. What is that sound I hear? Is it Christmas? No, it is the sound of a turning screw.

we just need to bit the bullet and cut cable..and just do interent..they are losing customers every year...too many options out there..fire stick, chromecast apple tv, roku, sling...the new generation has figured this out...under 25 generation.the older folks not so much over 45...dont worry in ten years they will have to aadapt or lose market share..

in the mean time have to squeeze them every year until you can make that leap and dont turn back

I'm never sure what a decent price is since bundling is of no use to me and I just wanted wifi.

Between phone and wifi (unlimited data for both) should run me about $25 per month w/o contract if I can make it work. Our public library got Verizon Mifi Hotspot devices which you can checkout for about a month. That helps.

I'm under 45, but yet I don't really like the option of streaming. Not only that but I REFUSE to use Sling due to it being from Dish. Since they bought and then gutted the remainder of Blockbuster Video, where I used to get some insane gaming deals at least twice a year during their BOGO sales, I refuse to do business with them on any level regardless of how good their channel offering may be.

There's only maybe 2-3 channels I actually still watch on the cable package we have now(Cartoon Network/Adult Swim, History and on occasion USA Network). So I wouldn't really miss cable all that much, though there are certain programs on Adult Swim I would want to watch when they're newly aired as opposed to watching them via streaming later on.

Honestly, gaming is my main source of entertainment nowadays with surfing the internet a close second. Yet I still refuse to pay over $30 a month for internet. Right now with our Commiecast bundle we have a $50 level TV package and $30 a month for internet(105-12 or whatever). If pricing for just the internet would stay stable and not jack up every damn year I'd probably just settle for a couple of these bootleg/pirate boxes the one local electronics shop has and pay the $40-45 or whatever a month for a good internet speed to use them properly. From what I've seen of them when the owner demonstrated one for me they seem to get most of the newer movies(including those in theaters now) and a good selection of shows I'd wanna watch on high quality streams.
