Rifle Kit from PSA = $299.99 + s&h (mine was $17) (Temp OOS)

http://palmettostatearmory.com/in...e-kit.html

Lower from Anderson MFG, says its aluminium mil spec = $37.43 + $10 s&h

http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/3-0136500

So for about $365 shipped total, and no polymer lower. Seems like a good deal

This is the cheapest it gets if you want to assemble an AR.

It most likely does not have a bullet button required for it to be CA legal.

as good as the rest.. don't fall for brand name marketing. most parts are made by the same few companies. the problem is that after you build it, you'll spend a wad making it tacticool.

if you've never built your own, you are missing it on a fun time. they really are simple to build.

Just throwing it out there, the page says that this lower requires a special screw that is not standard to other lowers. Any links for that screw ?

I've contemplated buying one and have an alert setup but every time a kit like this comes up I see SDers giving their opinion that the materials are not up to par with the more expensive ones. so my question is regarding build quality and material, don't want to invest in a AR that will degrade or have poor accuracy, etc. tia! this would be my first AR

Both kits in the OP as well as the shortened bolt listed above will result in a completed rifle.

For that price, obviously not expecting top of the line features but just pointing out: no dust cover, no forward assist, no brass deflector, no rear sight, and you'll need to buy magazines, etc.

I'm new to ARs. It says this is chambered in "5.56 NATO" but doesn't say "223/556." If I remember correctly, is it ok to shoot 223 out of a 556 but not vice versa? Is that correct? Just curious, TIA.

That is what I've always been told but I don't know what would happen if you tried.

Mine only has a red dot sight and ergonomic mods, no tacticool. Cool
