I just found out about r/beermoney and some of the really dumb stuff they do there, like watching videos, clicking links, and letting software track everything you do for...~300 a year. Reminds me of Jerry from Rick and Morty. The guy just does dumb stuff for low reward. Meanwhile you can make that passively just by auto-loading your Serve card every month with a Fidelity 2% Amex; or you could make $400 for a little bit of work opening that new PNC checking account.

We know that credit card churning, manufactured spend, flipping high value items is good (electronics, sneakers maybe), but what about things that are a waste of time? Beermoney stuff? Swagbucks? Couponing?

Couponing years ago wasn't a waste of time because it was a huge moneymaker, not counting all the stockpile that was easy to build for almost nothing OOP. Since Extreme Couponers show came about, couponing went downhill and that was the time I got interested in MS. I am still enjoying all the non perishable items I stockpiled through the years so I can concentrate on MS stuff these days. Serve is just one of the prepaids that can be autoloaded, there's a lot other prepaids that can be loaded and drained quite easily and get the rewards. I churn CCs but not bank c/a bonuses.

Do you think Ibotta/Cartwheel/Safeway/Walmart apps are a waste of time too? These 4 seem to be more robust and useful than other couponing things I've seen.

Any other useful hustles in your opinion besides MS & churning?

among apps you mentioned, I only do CW every now and then when I load my RB at Target a few times a month. I used to do Checkout51 depending on items they gave CBs but I've not scanned receipts for months now. MS alone with 5% cards keeps me busy and well worth it to me with CB, miles and hotel points I get each month.

btw, there's one that's definitely not a waste of time for me ~ submitting for beer rebates. I submit for those I already have receipts so it's basically free money when my checks start coming in. I live in no beer purchase needed state so this has worked well for me for years now.

Paying debt off quickly is a big goal for me too. Having an extra money to pay off your debt would be a good help.

It is my opinion that affiliate marketing is a waste of time. You get their advertising out there but you never really make any decent money from it.

You would need to be running some sort of script to do everything for you that would be manually done, right?

I have a grandfathered plan with Verizon that has unlimited data and Perk used to be so easy to program for me to keep going all day. I used the cheap Kyocera phone from Target many months ago and just left it on but later, it requires to be attended to so I haven't used it now....laugh out loud
