As I've mentioned in previous identical threads, these are great and honestly cannot be beat for $12. (I bought them at $14 and it was still a good deal). I used these again this weekend cutting metal lathe to replace the deteriorating attic vent screens. They cut extremely well. I have a set of Wiss ones (made in USA) which were ~ $30 but I actually prefer to use these Evolv ones when up on a ladder working. I would rather drop and damage the Evolv ones than the Wiss ones.

It was brought up in previous threads about how the Evolv ones compare to the ones from Harbor Freight. I would expect, from experience, for the Evolv ones to be of higher quality and the grips to be better. One thing I've found about Harbor Freight hand tools that are clearly re-branded "knock-offs" or whatnot, is that they use inferior grips that either tear, stretch, or slide off over time. They also have spring mechanisms that become finicky over time as well. Also, while both require a proof of purchase receipt for warranty replacement, at least with the Evolv ones you can print out an email. With Harbor Freight, you'll need to store that receipt carefully unless you bought it online and paid to have it shipped.

Great set of tin snips for the average home owner. But if you plan on using these for a go-to-tool for cutting roof flashing, aluminum siding, gutters and soffits, etc., as a full-time job or frequent hobby; then keep these as a backup to specialized tools that are heavier duty.

I wish the USA could've stayed competitive in markets like this, but China, like many other markets, has taken over the US. I blame those that for generations, joked about 'digging a hole all-the-way-to-China' too often. Now we're in a hole that China gladly helped us dig. Wink

yeah I have a pair of heavy duty Wiss ones, USA-made of course
these Evolv ones are great as backups or ones I don't care too much about if they got damaged

I appreciate the local-to-distal progression.

I was a proponent of the Free State Project in the Northeast. I was hoping American Sustainable Development would arise to a point where high IQ's could breed a 1% from that project, and have some fun rubbing-their-hands-together-while-maniacally-laughing; but got cut-out of the project with better tin-snips. Only 6.49 in my location. Thanks for the heads up. I have had evolv products before and they are decent but not to the craftsman standard if you ask me. I know the olympic may not be any better but for 1/2 the price I will gladly get a set to try.
