Are rebate expiration dates in PST or EST or ?

JJackJi 22 14 August 31, 2015 at 11:12 AM
Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question. So sorry if this is the wrong place.

My question is that I'm not sure about what timezone the expiration date is specified in:

https://slickdeals.4myrebate.com/?oc=SKD-10078

The rebate says August 14-17. I'm assuming that means my purchase had to be before midnight on August 17. However, is that PST or EST ?

How does it work ?

Thanks!

This shouldn't be a grey area, but it is. Most of the time, it depends on each individual estores location. For example, TigerDirect runs on EST. Rule of thumb is, is when you place the order, the time/date of the order confirmation is what stands, regardless of time zone.

Thanks for the reply !

However, when I ordered from HP, the order confirmation email doesn't even list time of purchase. I'm guessing I use the timestamp from my email server in this case ?

No it doesn't list anything other than the price and configuration.

From the examples it looks like they will have to go off the date header from the email, which will normally be displayed in local time.
