Is there any way to make the Windows Store in 8.1 forget the account information?

I have a customer with an Encore 2 tablet (bought with a Slickdeal!) who absolutely *had* to have Solitaire but was sure he didn't need anything else. Local user account (cloud accounts suck!). So we made a throwaway Microsoft account to download it and he just Cancels out whenever it asks for a login. Now he decided he wants more games, and of course the password was lost. Recovery email address was Mailinator. Don't use Mailinator as a recovery account: the recovery codes don't show up. Mad So the account is completely locked and unrecoverable, but completely unimportant.

Until it turns out that you can't change the Microsoft Account associated with the Windows Store... unless you're logged into the Microsoft Account associated with the Windows Store. I can't find any info on where the heck this data is saved. Registry? AppData folder? Navigating a tablet without a keyboard or mouse is beyond annoying. Does anyone have any clue how to get rid of this?

Disabling/Enabling the Store didn't fix it. The WSReset tool doesn't delete the account data, just the cache. He doesn't want to lose his user account settings but it's looking like a new account or even resetting the entire tablet seems to be the only fix I've found. I saw *one* forum comment to change the entire account to Live then back to Local but the option to change it to Live is disabled so we couldn't try that one. There's *got* to be a file or registry key to erase to fix this! Mad

Can't say I had to deal with that. I had a garbage account, but I associated with a real email address.

I wouldn't be shocked if you had to do a reset on the tablet to get it going again.

Maybe try this:
I don't think thats very likely to work as thats all the local account and they need the email address. I hope there is a better answer for this OP.

I still haven't found any data on this. I'll wait another day or two before I just go ahead and make an entirely new user account. Need to my Bluetooth keyboard before I go crazy trying to use this thing. Metro mode is fine for tablets but the moment you need to Regedit and Event Viewer things, Desktop mode without a keyboard and mouse makes me want to scream.
