Which is the best place to get discounted Disneyland tickets?
Any additional discounts for a bigger group?

Unfortunately, not many options unless you are a SoCal resident.

Here is a website with great summary of your options - again, not a lot:

http://www.mousesavers.com/disney...discounts/

SoCal residents qualify for discounted tickets, but definitely YMMV as they can (and sometimes will) check at the gate for a CA driver's license. Most times they do not, but I have seen it happen.

Mousesavers is normally the best reference when looking for coupons.

How big of a group will you be purchasing tickets for? You may be able to get a corporate group rate.

I'm a Socal resident taking my friends from other state.

Where do i check the socal discount? Is it available for online or at the gate ticket purchase?

You can save 5% by buying Disney gift cards at Target using a Target RedCard. Disney gift cards qualify as "entertainment" and are therefore covered by the RedCard 5% discount. This worked for me last June. Use the gift cards at the gate to buy the tickets you want. This should also work when buying the SoCal tickets at the gate.

Unfortunately, doesn't look there is a current SoCal discount according to Mousesavers, otherwise this would have been great option (approx. $80 off a 2 day pass)

Will there be a discount if I purchase tickets at the gate showing socal address?

If someone you are going with is Active Duty military, career retired, disabled with DAVPRM on ID card you can get a very good price through most outdoor rec depatments on military bases. I believe the current deal is $131 for 3-day hopper.

For others with DoD base access you can get a slight discount that's equivalent to about 8% or so. As scootros mentioned I believe Disney will accept Disney gift cards. There are sometimes great deals on some gift card selling sites beyond 5% from target red, howvever that is at your own risk and may not be worth the hassle. Costco use to have deals, but I don't think they do anymore.

Do you know if friends or family of military members get any discount on base tickets? That can be used at the park without the military member?

You can use a 5x points rewards card to buy the tickets at a grocery store. 5% discount & target charge for 5% savings.
