Just a heads up, the pack I picked up last week had a good through date of November 2017. I checked the shelves and they all had the same date. That's a pretty short date for alkaline batteries. I will probably burn through them by then but was still disappointed by the date.

All the time. Anything that sits around for a year between changes gets standard batteries. Anything that goes on stage in theater (think 2-4 batteries for every mic or mic pack every single show) gets standard batteries. Anything you store with batteries for emergency backup. Anything that goes into the field where you won't always have a charger.


*yes, there are low-discharge batteries on the market. With Eneloops costing roughly 12x that of cheap one-time use they don't pay back quickly enough on something that may only get changed once a year.
