Help! Major Windows 10 upgrade problem

pattisw 911 1,433 September 4, 2015 at 08:27 PM
I just downloaded Windows 10. When it got to the part that said it would set up the apps it started acting up.The screen has been flickering off and on really fast and no apps are loading.
The computer started sounding like an airplane ready to take off. After about a half hour I rebooted, afraid the computer was overheating.
I can't click on anything or do anything but hit the buttons on the keyboard to reboot or shut down.
I have a 4 year old Dell desktop that had been using Windows 7. I don't know the first thing about computer fixing.
Any easy suggestions?

Just restore from the backup that you made before starting the Windows 10 upgrade. You DID make a backup first, right? EEK!

You'll need to restore from your backup or create bootable windows 10 media then access safe mode/repair options.

Instructions for creating windows 10 installation media, choose "Create installation media for another PC":
You need a functioning computer to do this, so you may have to do this on a friend or family member's computer.

If you have windows 7 installation media you could also reinstall windows 7.
