Hey guys saw this on Friday, but forgot to post it and haven't seen it posted yet.

Staples has two Garmin Nuvi GPS on clearance in store only.

Garmin Nuvi 2557LMT $27.50 SKU: 64832 Staples [staples.com]
Garmin Nuvi 42LM $19.50 SKU: 64835 Staples [staples.com]

Both units have 4.5 stars on Amazon. The 42LM is actually the #1 Bestseller in Powerstports GPS Units on Amazonand the 2557LMT is #4.

The 2557LMT was a FP Ebay Daily Deal for $100 in June, so this is a very slick deal and probably will go quick. They both come with lifetime maps etc. they just lack bluetooth.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Both show retail price online as they are clearance in store (B&M) as stated. Added YMMV anyways as I did not call any other Staples in other states to find out the pricing

Its really YMMV to have in stock. I called 6 stores nearby my place, which shows as in-stock through the inventory checker. However, none of them is really available in stock as per staples associates. I'm not sure they are not selling because the price is damn low. Whoever, get this GPS is really lucky...

If you called the stores to ask, then you tipped off the associates to the deal and they lied to you so that they can buy it themselves.

I wonder why the units mysteriously are no longer available in stock when you call.

I agree with you, since Staples allow 14 days refund policy, they know the item is super lower price, so they can buy it first and sell it online for the different profit, if not sell or no profit, they still can return it back to any store for full refund!vomit

Just curious.

What are the benefits of having a GPS unit like this when most smart cell phones have GPS built in and unlimited data?

I am just curious why people still buy a separate GPS unit like this.

Honestly, just curious . . .

I don't pay for data on my cell phone. I'd love to have a GPS at this price, might stop by my local Staples and check.

1. If you are in an area with no CELL reception (ex wilderness/desert), dedicated GPS still works
2. If u loose your phone in an unfamiliar place, with dedicated GPS, you can still get around
