cheap alternative to WordPress

I want to improve a NFP website. The website is currently a WordPress paying $18 a year for domain, hosting and removing WordPress from the domain name.

I'm not interested in learning WordPress. I'd much rather code from scratch or use a drop and drag website builder. What choices do I have to pay a similar yearly fee and move from WordPress? Everything I see wants $4-20/mo.

The site has a small about page, a picture gallery, a PayPal donate but to and a page of embedded YouTube videos from their YouTube account.

Thank you. I've heard about and saw Drupal's website. I don't understand how it works as a host, domain ave didn't see anything about pricing. Can you give me a couple sentence overview?

Drupal is open-source (free). It is a content management system (CMS) that manages your website from design to display (it is also a webserver). Most hosting services like GoDaddy and others will offer you a Drupal site as part of your domain registration. You can switch your site to a Drupal CMS with them, and then build your site in it. You should be able to have a site up and running in under an hour with Drupal. If you learned WordPress, you can learn Drupal.

Thanks. I was getting the impression it was something along the lines of that. It would come out to a lot more than WordPress though. Unless someone knows of a hosting/domain for around $20 a year I'm forced to learn WordPress and to make the best of their free templates.

Where are you hosting? They are all cheaper than $20. Check out GoDaddy. They are $2.99 the first year and $14.99 for subsequent years. I have free hosting I think you get that too.

Right now everything is with WordPress, hosting and domain. From what I understand, GoDaddy and Drupal combination I need to pay for Domain and hosting. After the first year prices get expensive. I might settle for the free Weebly websites, if I can just pay to remove the .weedbly from the link for cheap.

I am at GoDaddy and I just pay for my domain. Hosting is included.

This is what the rep is telling me, as the cheapest option. (Prices are before tax)

Randy - $10 / year for transfer = $100 for 10 years.
Randy - Hosting $50x10 for 10 years.

$150 (plus tax) for 10 years of domain transfer + hosting. Its slightly cheaper than 10 years of Wordpress.

Thank you. Now I have to find time to learn Drupal before I make the move.
