help with bluetooth issues
I will add that I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers using several methods (running an installer from the tablet's support website, uninstalling and letting MS find a suitable driver, uninstalling and rebooting to allow hardware discovery to handle the task).
[Caution: TLDR Rant Ahead]
FWIW, I am not a stranger to PC configuration, I have built a few of my own and done lots of different tweaks and whatnot. I'm usually the guy that family/friends call when there's trouble, so I know my way around things more than most. I am by no means an "expert" but I can usually figure my way around settings and/or look up the more difficult stuff in order to get things up and running. Yet bluetooth continues to completely mystify me. Such an ubiquitous technology would surely be configured to appeal to a mass audience with not a vastly technical skillset. I had attempted to use bluetooth devices in years past and every time abandoned it, bitterly disappointed. Crappy connections, no connections, unpairing, etc. I'd dismissed it as "not ready for prime time" and left it alone for years. But here we are 20-some years after it's inception, on version 4.2 of the technology, and with every bluetooth whatever gizmo under the sun is now available, I kind of hoped that they finally figured out how to make this crap work reliably. My rant is not just because of a problem with a tablet either, recently I've also bought a bluetooth receiver and bluetooth headphones as well, both 4.0 devices, that still disconnect from 5 feet away when I turn my body the wrong way or will not play the audio in sync with the video. What in the world am I missing? Or is bluetooth still just crap and we're all just being duped by marketing hype?
