Hello everyone,

I'm planning on purchasing a truck private party and I need to obtain a loan. Are there any banks or credit unions that will give you a blank check that you can fill in the amount and then the seller can deposit the check? I've come across quite a few trucks that I'm interested in, but the financial institution I usually bank through wants all of the sellers information along with the vehicle information. Many times the seller doesn't want to haggle with this, so I get passed up. Any help or insight is appreciated. Thank you.

I would check with I think they'll approve you for a certain amount and you have 30 days to close on the deal. I believe you can amend the amount borrowed, so long as it's lower than you're approved for, you're good to go.

They have very competitive rates, solid reviews and they tout their "No-fee policy." Call in first and get everything verified either way.

depends on the CU or bank. my first bank gave me a blank check that states "valid up to XX,XXX value"

Usually not on used vehicles. Capital one does this on new vehicles but pretty sure not used.
