Ridiculous price on a DOT/SNELL approved helmet.
Free shipping if you spend $89.

Too bad the supply is limited to small and x-small.

Killer price if you're looking for an extra helmet to have for riding two up with your child or a small-headed adult passenger. Or if you yourself happen to have a small head, of course.

I have this helmet (in XL) and it's a very nice budget brain bucket. Nicely finished and that lever to open the face shield a crack on warm/humid days is genuinely useful. The helmet has a bit more wind noise than I would like, but beyond that it's a great buy.

Ive had the black version of the helmet for almost a year before recently purchasing a shoei rf 1200. The quality on this helmet is very comparable to that of the 450 dollar shoei. I bought a small in the R410, and i wear a medium in the rf1200. Would not hesistate to buy again

Have you purchased and used both the Shoei RF 1200 and the Scorpion R410? Because you've quoted someone who just said he has.

Or are you laughing really hard based on no actual knowledge about one or both these particular helmets? Because that really would be laughable.

I have owned a lot of helmets, sorry bud but Scorpions are junk and the RF 1200 is not that great either...

thanks for your concern and I'll make a note of it laugh out loud

and per your post many people who need to protect their noggins wouldn't want a budget brain bucket....

Ok, any recommendations on a $150-$200. helmet? I have a 15 years old AVG (Italian) helmet and looking to upgrade. Suggestions? Bell, HJC? Model?

HJC is probably as cheap as I would go, I've long been out of the helmet game, but I love my Aria's. corsair-V is a great helmet, currently I've been using a XD-4 and it feels wonderful. Dampens a lot of outside noise and vents just wonderful. Shoei, Shark, AGV, Suomy are just a few more manufactures but they can be up in price.

My honest recommendation is go to a shop & try on a bunch. For example my XD-4 is a 500 + helmet..
I found an almost new one on CL for for 280. All helmets fit different, just find a good fit, DOT & SNELL certified and don't skimp out.
Have fun helmet shopping

So WHY do you think Scorpions are junk, and RF 1200 are not that great? I'm not asking for rigorous statistics, but some substantial observations would be helpful. Otherwise, you would just be stating another seemingly ignorant comment based on the 'brand', except you think that we would put more weight on your fact-less claim just because you went to grad school.

In case you were wondering, I'm not a Scorpion fanboy, but is sincerely curious about whether the more expensive helmets protect better. They all have to pass the same government tests... If Arai or Shoei truely perform better in crash test, won't they be advertising it? I admit that their designs are pretty... and MAYBE they perform better with respect to noise, comfort, and durability of wear items. However, does it justify the 3-10x the cost?

Ha, nope just stating while in school I've worked at a moto shop for a long time. Noted for next time hug I'll just say schooling so I don't upset some folks, I'll even edit that post to reflect that. Cool

& just like the saying goes, opinions are like butt holes everyone has one. But when comparing an Icon per say to a more expensive brand is a night and day difference.... And to comment on your DOT/Snell testing; just like in a school setting an A is great but a C still passes too ehbounce but have no clue where you are going with that? I just said its better to have both certs on a lid Confused But buy whatever you like, I honestly can care less & I never stated one will crash better then the other.... vomit

And I guess if you need some substantial observation yes you are right one liner might be softer then the other, one may vent better then the other, one might have less wind noise then the other.. Some people can justify A HIGHER cost for a softer plush, less noise, better venting lid for a bit of a premium that can be had at a slickdeal.

I don't get what your argument is? maybe its just stating another seemingly ignorant comment based on I have no clue, crash ratings Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)
