No way to create exclusion only Deal Alerts

Muscles 171 38 September 18, 2015 at 11:48 PM
Right now, you can't create keyword exclusion only deal alerts. For example, if I wanted deal alerts for everything hitting 5 TU in the Video Games categories BUT I hate Amiibos, I can't just set the keywords -amiibo, or @title -amiibo, etc. I'd have to first have a inclusion, such as game -amiibo. Plans to add this in the future?

This is incredibly useful for when I have nothing I really want, but still want instant notifications if there's anything good.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll add this to our list of things to consider when we start redesigning the Deal Alerts management page.

Till they do add that option, if they do, try this for now maybe:

a|e|i|o|u -amiibo

Current results in Hot Deals, in Video Games category with 5 thumbs up

Search is still a bit glitchy right now I think, but that *should* work for most or at least a lot. It won't work for all and it may miss some deals, but for now that should help some

Interesting, I tried something like that but I could never get consistent results through the "Preview results". I tested game -amiibo and it works consistently because it's all about gaming, so I'd recommend your method for sections where there's never going to be a single persistent word. I can think of game for Video Games, men for Men's Clothing (and woman/child for those), but not sure what else would encapsulate everything in a section.

Yeah I was just using your amiibos example to show that it might work ok for you or others, for whatever their exclusion is. It's not perfect and it will miss stuff, but it does help a bit when there are no other alternatives Smilie
