Many of you may recall the Viper remote start bundle I posted earlier this week. That's dead, but here's another great deal.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/compu...6400050000

It's a bit more than the previous deal, but this system includes two keyfobs and also does keyless entry. The Viper system only included one keyfob and could only unlock the doors if remote started first. It was never able to lock the doors. But this system includes full true keyless entry. So if you're already carrying a separate fob to lock/unlock your doors, you could ditch it and carry this one with remote start too.

Again, this package includes the bypass module needed for most vehicles and the labor to install it. There may be some small parts needed for your specific vehicle, but this package includes the bulk of it.

This deal of the day isOVER! But the price still showing valid as of now. Get it while it lasts.

^^ You've got to be kidding me if you think that shows you how to install a remote start system....

^^^^ This does not contain the bypass module that 90%+ of cars on the road will require. Completely different ballgame without that. It sells for $53 separately and must be programmed with a special dongle.

Oh and to answer a couple quick questions.

1) This system is not compatible with manual transmission vehicles.

2) Like the Viper SmartStart, this has an extremely similar offering called Drone you can add-on so you can control the system from your cell phone. It also includes real-time vehicle tracking. The add-on module is $199 installed plus an annual plan of $119.

Hmmm I might pick this up for my 1998 explorer. Not sure how thats gonna work with the PATS key system thing though.

It never had keyless entry and that along with remote start would certainly be nice.

both of my cars keyfob has proximity unlock..unlock car within 2 ft by pressing the door handle button..will this keyfob replace that function or do i still need to carry the original keyfob in my pocket with this one? i just want to add remote start option to both my cars.

lol... These aftermarket remotes certainly will not work with your proximity based door lock.

The remotes will probably unlock the doors and lock them but youll need to physically press the button on the remote.

So yeah, if you want to use your proximity feature youll need to keep your key fob on you.

very good deal .. better than most of groupon deals where you have spend extra 100 plus for bypass module anyway

I have a 06 Sequoia. Where would I need to go to see if the system is compatible with my vehicle?

I dont know youd have to call bestbuy about that.

But it seems this kit should have most of what you need. If you need anything extra it will probably be cheap and they will just charge you at the time of installation.

It should work, but I guess you could call bestbuy. I doubt they know unless you get ahold of an actual installer but the idea is that this works on any car.

I bought this a while back, and it included installation. When I went to Bestbuy, they wanted to add a lot more $ to the cost. It was a real bait switch.

Just a FYI this is straight from ,the page

  • NOTE: cost of additional parts and labor typically ranges from $10 to $300, depending upon vehicle make and model - please contact your local Best Buy store for exact pricing.
