Has anyone successfully used the code EIDPRM for the free paper? I tried to use it and it looked like it was accepted, however it didn't show up on my receipt. I called Canon and they said that code is only good for INK... you need to have ink in your order.

That explains why people said that free shipping didn't show up when only that code was used... if it was used and there was no ink, then there wouldn't be any free shipping either.

CANONUPGRADE15 gives you FREE 2-Day Shipping and Handling if you have a camera in your order

EIDPRM (free 2-Day Shipping and 100 sheets of free photo paper) won't work unless you have ink in your order

If you want a small, light, and tight fitting case for this camera, look at the Case Logic DCB-304, around $10 on amazon and elsewhere.

Good camera, better than usual price but not close the lowest price of last year that was $25 less than this.

If you don't want to carry too much weight but have the closest approach to the nearby wildlife etc, this is it.

Repped.

I grabbed one of these a couple weeks ago when Canon had the Labor Day sale at this price then it went back up again.
Anyway the camera arrived as new with all included accessories. With FS and a one year warranty you can't beat it.

Different beasts--different strong points. A camera like this really can't take the price of a good DSLR in terms of image quality. But it's not easy to get the SX50's focal range with a DSLR... so it can't hurt to have BOTH. If all you really want is an all-in-one, there are better superzoom bridge camera out there (sony makes a fantastic one at around $900).

I see, I'm not trying to spend $900 though maybe around $300-400 is my max. Just want something better than the cybershot point and shoot I have.

I would look at used Nikon P900's on ebay, but I want as much range as I can get. As far as bridge cameras go, there's NOTHING in the $300-$400 range that even compares to the image quality of a DSLR. Maybe try for a used Sony a6000 kit for around $400.

A $300-$400 dslr or mirrorless camera will will bury this toy.
No you won't get 50X optical zoom for that price so you have to ask yourself what it is that you're after, quality images or something only useful for getting crap images of something 2 blocks aways. Spend your money on a camera capable of getting great shots in most ideal environments then grab something to toy around with later.
