Does no one else do OLED? How does this compare to samsung's SUHD and other sonys?

Panasonic is coming out with one. Double the price of these LG sets though.

If you ask me, OLED vs LCD is no comparison. OLED blows them away. Samsung is going to have to start dropping prices!

This is a good deal (for September 2015, anyway)! I shouldn't be buying this right now though lol.

LG bought some patents on OLED that puts them years ahead of everyone else. They'll be the only game in town for another two years or so.

pretty much my ideal tv choice at the moment. perfect size, not curved, and of course OLED. One day when the price drops...

It's getting there. The new high end OLEDs are roughly $4K if you factor in the free 49" 4K tv and bluetooth speaker that comes bundled with them

Looking at them in store at 15+ ft I almost can't tell the difference, but moving in closer the blacks are amazing creating a super saturated/rich look. Unfortunately they intentionally trick you by playing night scenes on the OLEDs and day scenes on the LCDs so you can't do a one to one comparison.

Great deal on the 55EG9100 though, especially for a pre-order TV!

LG has been on top of that. First generation OLEDs suffered from screen retention pretty badly, but LG now uses a dimming feature that automatically "greys out" static images like network logos and sports scoreboards in the corners of your tv until you move the magic remote. It seems to work really well. and what about the JS9500? OLED absolutely crushes the Sammy picture, but I'm not sure on input lag/response time when gaming

Finally! The Plasma challenging TVs are here and dropping in price. It's refreshing to see a large format screens that are about picture quality rather than gimmicks like curves and artificial refresh rates!
