Still using a 25+ year old Kryptonite U-lock. Probably time for a replacement. This seems like a good deal, although if you read the reviews on Amazon [amazon.com], some people complain about the clip not working well. Not a big deal if you have a rear rack.

Edit: should note that this is not an ultra-high-security lock. Those locking their bikes in a major metropolitan area should probably look elsewhere.

Not bad but seems like a standard price

Amazon's price is $45. Where have you seen it for less?

Also, wanted to point out that no lock will stand up to a cordless angle grinder.

considering your tubular lock can be opened with a pen in seconds, I would probably get it replaced. I believe the company was replacing them for free. Not sure. This is assuming you have the old style lock

Yeah it is a tubular lock, but AFAIK they discontinued the replacement program a long time before I even found out about, which was many years ago. Luckily I don't have an expensive bike (or rather, the bike I use for commuting is not an expensive bike) so I'm not all that concerned. Even my "good" road bike is probably too old to be of interest to any "professional" thief.

well "every other week" might be a bit of an exaggeration, but you are correct, it is posted fairly frequently. I hadn't seen it since the last deal posted was before I set up one of my searches that found it.
