Researchers at the University of Georgia are studying how employees manage private information about themselves in the workplace.

This study will ask you to participate in daily online surveys for a period of 15 workdays. In exchange, you will receive up to $50. In addition, a survey partner who you select (like a spouse, partner, roommate, etc.) will be asked to participate in daily surveys, for which he or she will be able to earn up to $30.

To participate, you should be 18 years or older, work full-time (at least 35 hours per week), work with colleagues, and be able to recruit a survey partner to participate.

For more information about the study and to sign up, visit:

The title of this research study is Private Life Conversations. The contact information of the researchers can be found at the website above.

I am a doctoral student in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, and I am conducting my dissertation about how people manage personal information about themselves in the workplace. Below is information about this study, but if you would like to learn more about my research and me, please go to my website at: http://www.terry.uga.edu/director...e/jwlynch/.

If you have any questions about the study, then please feel free to contact me (John Lynch) directly at jwlynch@uga.edu or my advisor (Jessica Rodell) at jrodell@uga.edu.

This Research Study: Private Life Conversations

If you decide to participate in this study, you will be asked to do the following:

Complete a registration survey (approximately 15 minutes).
Provide the contact information of a survey partner who is also willing to complete a similar registration survey. Your survey partner can be a spouse, roommate, close friend, family member, or someone else who interacts with you on a regular basis outside the workplace.
Complete two short surveys (5-10 minutes each)—one around lunch time and another at the end of the workday—every day for fifteen (15) consecutive workdays. The surveys will ask about your interactions with your colleagues in your workplace earlier in the day.
Remind your survey partner also to complete one short survey (5-10 minutes each) about you during the evenings of the same time period.

Any information that can be used to identify you or link you to your individual survey responses will be kept confidential. The researchers will use this information solely to pay you for participating in the study and to match your surveys with your survey partner's surveys.

In return for your participation, you will receive up to $50. Specifically, you will be compensated as follows:

You will receive $3 for completing this registration survey.
If you complete the surveys on three (3) of the study days, you will earn an additional $7 (or $10 total).
If you complete the surveys on eight (8) of the study days, you will earn an additional $22 (or $25 total).
If you complete the surveys on all fifteen (15) of the study days, you will earn an additional $47 (or $50 total).

In order for a day to count, both surveys each day must be completed. In order to participate in the daily surveys, you must have had at least one conversation that day where a colleague asked about your personal life. For their participation, your survey partner can receive up to $30, with a similar payment schedule to the one above.

You will be sent your money either through Paypal or Amazon.com. Towards the end of the study I will contact you about which payment option you prefer.

The following are the requirements for participation in this study:
You must be 18 or older.
You must work full-time (35+ hours/week).
You must work with colleagues.
You must have a survey partner (defined above) who is willing to participate with you.

Further, in order to participate in the daily surveys, it will be necessary for you to have interacted with your colleagues earlier that day. These daily surveys will ask you about workplace conversations where colleagues have asked you about your personal life.

Please fill in your email address below and we'll send you a link to the registration survey once we reopen registration. Thanks again for your interest!

The fine print foe anyone who may be interested. Study is closed for now may reopen at a later time.

On a side note I hope they are not sending cash in the mail as payment like they have done in the past.
