Thread Details

  • Carrier: Verizon
  • Activation Term: New activation on Device Payment or Contract
  • Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 5, regular price $696
  • Discount: $200 off with promo code "FALLPROMO"
  • Icing: Trade in smartphone and get another $200 off (possibly bill/account credits)
  • Candle on the cake: $100 bill credit for port-in

$696- $200 Fall Promo - $200 trade-in = $296 +taxes (must pay applicable taxes)
Keep your line active for 1-2 cycles and receive another $100 credit with port-in.

Above is tested and works online but I'd prefer to do it instore because to avoid headaches with sending in trade-in and the staff (in the past) was able to apply the trade-in value onto the account immediately.

$200 FALLPROMO also applicable to Samsung S6 Edge+ or Droid Turbo. Promo ends 9/30/15.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Is that UP TO $200 off or does any smartphone trade-in give you that full amount?

I tried an iPhone 4 which has a trade-in value of $25 but was given full $200 at checkout. Same with a Nokia 520.

I'm confused. Surely Verizon is not selling you the phone for $296 without some contract agreement. And if they need a contract agreeement are they simply charging you the monthly cost of the phone at $296 instead of full price?

I am eligible for a new two-year upgrade and the Galaxy Note 5 is already $299 on a two-year contract. But if I could get the monthly payment plan set at a total cost of $296 instead of full price I'd be intrigued.

I plan to see if this will work tomorrow.

So how does the FALLPROMO work in the store? Do you just tell them about the online code and they apply it? Sorry for the question, haven't bought a phone from a carrier in like 6 years.

Also, if I were to trade in a phone, does it have to be activated? I want to trade in an old blackberry that works for the $200 trade in, but port in the number from my iPhone so I can keep that phone. Will that work or will they only take an activated phone?

I'll be going into the store on Monday to try it, just trying to get more info before I head in.

So, you have to sign a contract AND still pay $300?

I fail to see the slick in this deal?

Until September 24th, ANY working smartphone that meets the condition requirements gets a $200 minimum credit/gift card, when you activate a new line (not an upgrade), and purchase a new 4g lte device on a payment plan (which you can pay off early without penalty). Haha, I actually had to educate the store manager AND their corporate liaison about it...which I learned from a customer care manager from corporate.

I just got 4 iPhone 5s today, traded in 4 phones (worth around $40 total), and got an $800 gift card sent to my email (well, $674, as they took the sales tax out of the GC, which is fine as it was gonna be due anyways) while I was still in the store...took about 10 min to do the trade ins. I didn't port numbers as I'm going to cancel all the lines in a couple days anyways and pay it all off, but all told will be around $290/each for a brand new unlocked 5s, which ain't a bad way to burn up the GCs I had left from the promo early this spring.

AFTER the 24th, the new promo takes over, which is a $100 minimum for the same devices...so get on it folks!

Where are you getting this deadline from?

I was told by a customer service manager from corporate...then had it confirmed with a hard copy for reference by a corporate store manager for my records. I attached a photo below...sorry for the bad quality and the fact it's chopped (not my fault...store print format I guess), I'm still using my backup phone and I'm in a hurry Big Grin

* He said they MAY push the date forward, but as of today the 24th of this month is the deadline (for this specific promotion). There are a few more details but I couldn't get them into the shot and have it still legible, and I don't have time to do a bunch of photos. Hope it helps.

The other promotion ($100 minimum for ANY smartphone) goes on until October 15, but also could change. They have a lot of overlapping promos...it's sorta messed, but that's the game I guess.
