Coupon code: FALLPROMO

Sign up for a new line of service (I suggest 1GB plan unless you're adding to an existing plan), apply the above promo code to your cart, once the promo is applied the phone price will drop to $280. Add a trade in/recycle phone to your cart to get the $200 gift card. It will check the ESN of the trade in phone to make sure it's not a 'bad ESN' phone, but it has no issues with phones that have never been active on your existing account and still have money owed on them on a device payment plan. (trading in my wife's 2013 moto X that still has a few payments left on it, i'll pay it off when i get the $200 gift card)

Once the phone arrives activate the phone, make a call, use some data, send a text. Package up your trade in phone and send it back to verizon to get your $200 gift card (within 2 weeks of verizon receiving the working trade in you'll get either a $200 bill credit or a gift card depending on if you are still a verizon customer or not) Go online and pay off the $280 balance on the new droid trubo so you can keep the phone. call verizon and cancel the new line. Your 'first month' prorated bill will have to be paid (if you picked the $50 plan it should be only a few dollars for the 1 day it was active).

I did a chat with a online rep and they confirmed all this will work, however the chat transcript i requested has not been emailed to me yet.

Absolutely sure they'll still send out the gift card if you're no longer a customer? That's a vital part of this deal, but if they do, it's a good deal.

call verizon and cancel the new line.
All of the new lines on DPP starting in september have a contract length of 001 month. And others who have tried to cancel in under 30 days by calling Verizon had their $200 trade-in credit canceled by the reps.

I would definitely NOT call to cancel. If you want to terminate, port out.

Idk if this will help. I just send in a sprint ip6 to verizon recycle program. I send it in on Friday, and receive an egiftcard this morning... But it is only to use at Verizon ?? so they might send you a GIFTCARD but only to be use at their store...

Well, the idea is that you use the gift card to help pay off the phone. I'm just not sure if we can truly trust them to send the gift card after we cancel or not.

So if you terminate by porting out, the $200 is sent as a gift card?

AFAIK, you get a bill credit, not a gift card for the trade-in if you are an existing Verizon customer and do the trade-in at purchase. But I would have to go read all of the threads again to confirm that and I am not going to do that.

So to get the $200 GC you just trade in any working smartphone when buying a new phone? When I get an appraisal through their regular tool I get less than $200.

AFAIK, it is a bill credit. And no, if you port out before you get it, then you don't get it.

You must have the coupon code applied in the cart before doing the appraisal, then you'll see the old appraisal cost crossed out, and $200 in it's place on the checkout screen before you commit to anything.

EDIT: you must purchase a " Samsung Galaxy S6 edge +, DROID TURBO by motorola, or Galaxy Note5"

No. I got $350 for the sprint ip6. Which is a good deal for me because I bought it for $150 from someone else.

Well, Verizon's trade-in page says this:

Quote :
1. Tell us about your device and see how much it's worth.
2. Return it in the prepaid, self-addressed envelope we'll send you.
3. Receive a Verizon Wireless electronic gift card after we review your device's condition. Existing customers will get an account credit in 1-2 billing cycles.
So it seems like they do send out cards to non-customers. Still doesn't really solidly answer if the bonus amount would get sent out, or if the real appraisal value would get sent out instead.

Chat rep i talked to said they would ship a giftcard, terms and conditions on trade in that i had to agree to said that it would be bill credit if i was a verizon subscriber, verizon gift card if i wasn't.
