Any possible price drops on CPUs in the next 2 months?

soralemu 12 September 23, 2015 at 08:35 AM
I am planning to build a computer with an i5 or equivalent AMD CPU. I already have a video card (GTS 570) so the processor and motherboard would be the most expensive parts.

Are there any expected price drops in the next two months?

I am kind of in the same boat, although looking at higher end chips. I don't anticipate much from Intel for the rest of the year. You will see some sales but they won't be major.

Yeah, AMD is still in no condition to contend on the high end, so Intel is in pretty much full control of their prices. That's unlikely to change in the next 2 or even 6 months.

CPU's don't really drop in price much even if/when a new generation is released.. best is just to get it from Microcenter or Intel's retail advantage if you have access to either.
