Was previously a frontpage deal for $200 in July.

Is this a good deal if I can't wait until BF/CM?

It's a better than normal price. This drive isn't as fast as the Samsung 850 pro and way slower than the NVMe 950 Pro drive that will be available in a few weeks.

If you need a drive now and need a "pro" level drive then go ahead and buy it. If you don't need a "pro" drive then just get an 850 evo. It is almost as fast and you won't notice any difference under normal usage. The evo can be had for $0.30/gb on a good sale.

a good deal would be when it goes back down to $150 as it has been recently.

Yes, but for those who don't want to take a chance on Samsung customer support, this is the best drive out there.

I would actually prefer an Ultra II or 850 Evo, but the thing is I'm sitting on $200 worth of Staples gift cards, and Staples doesn't carry the Ultra II or 850 Evo. Only the Extreme Pro. So I may just have Staples PM the newegg deal and unload this gift card once and for all.

Edit: Apparently Staples doesn't PM newegg. Apparently they need to have a brick and mortar store in addition to website. Only online only website they will PM is amazon. So I guess I'll be patient and wait.

Looks like someone must have submitted lower price to Amazon as they have it for the same price. Now PM to Staples.

Sure did. In fact those are exactly the gift cards I've been sitting on. As good as a deal as the $100 for $85 at Staples is, I'm not going to buy more of them because I've been sitting on these for months with nothing to buy. SSD, HDD, and RAM are pretty much the only things left to buy. If Staples carried Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM then I'd be buying more. Thanks again for the heads up on Amazon price matching. Repped.

I don't think the Pro drive has ever been $150 to my knowledge. If so, please link. I'm not sure why this isn't front page.

Nice drive , using one now (gaming rig) . Grabbed one a few months ago at $160 from Adorama . Its been a solid drive like my past older Extreme drive (but a tad faster).
I'll grab another for my laptop when it hits the same price or lower ....

It was $160 a few weeks ago but that was the lowest I saw without any rebates

Well, that explains it. I assumed that since the OP said is was FP in July at $200, that that was the lowest price until now.

If i want the fastest SSD hard drive it will be the evo pro?
