TigerDirect Discounts, Deals and Coupon Codes

Buyer beware--

CarmellaM312 1 10 September 24, 2015 at 03:47 AM More TigerDirect Deals
We found a deal on thanks to Slickdeals.

I ordered an AOC monitor while it still showed in stock.

6 days later, it still hadn't shipped so I questioned the company on how long the order would take to process. At that time, they changed my status to BACKORDERED. Mad

When I complained that they shouldn't sell more than they have... they offered me a much cheaper product for the amount I had already paid, or a much more expensive product (double my purchase price) at a $15 discount below their current asking price. laugh out loud

I was unwilling to do either, opting instead to try to get what I originally ordered.\
This morning, I woke up only to find that TIGERDIRECT had CANCELLED my backorder, AND relisted the exact same product online- IN STOCK-- for $40 more than I paid...Confused

How is that ethical business practice? EEK!

TigerDirect has been accused (in the past) of employing somewhat-less-than-ethical business sense, but they're generally a lot better these days than they were ten or more years ago. However, what you're talking about is something both Amazon and Newegg have been doing for several years. They offer an item at a sale price, and limit the sales quantity to XXX total units. Then they raise the price back up after they've sold XXX total units.

In your case, you should get your funds back. Don't accept any other offer. And insist on a $15 gift card for them wasting your time.

I could not resist posting in seeing this thread! :-) Simple look at my screen name! LMAO

Tiger Direct is a rip-off company..period!

I have not dealt with them since the fiasco in early 2014. Tons of false advertising with them and then horrendous customer service. I even dealt with them at their "executive" level, which are nothing but crooks just looking for the quick buck and screw the consumer.

Bottom line, they tried to f*ck me, but I turned the tables on them and got a nice HP laptop and a Netgear ac router for for my time trying to resolve these crooks issues.

I will never do business again with TD .. period. Smilie
