This is a good printer - with chipped cartridges available on ebay for around a buck or less.

i think this is on the better side of the canon mg series wireless printers. reviews look good too with 4 out of 5 stars based on over 300 reviews at amazon [amazon.com]

Great printer and literally printed something from it a minute ago. Got it for $55 a couple weeks ago and it's a HUGE improvement over my 4+ year old Canon.

I'm guessing this will be FP if it stays in stock. nod

Yeah, same as the MX line. I thought these used the all-colors-in-one-cartridge.

Anyone know the difference between MG and MX? They seem nearly identical.

Why does it say 5-color ink system? in the description I only see four color inks that are needed (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow)

Should be free....Wait til you have to buy refill cartridges! Color laser printers are the only good option. I realize replacements for those are expensive but they last a heck of a lot longer than ink jet garbage!

I believe it's primarily the auto document feeder. MX has it. MG doesn't.

When our office sets up temporary field offices, we have started taking this with us because it is versatile and convenient with wireless printing. Ink is cheap and the end product looks good. It is not what I would use to print 100 page reports, but for photos, scanning and small print jobs, its great. Also has an SD slot to print content off of. I would imagine by now it has 2000+ page scans and keeps on chugging. It is a little bigger that you think it would be and also fairly heavy.

MG is supposed to be the "photo" line, whereas the MX line is the office line.
The MG typically has an additional tank that is grey.

I recently purchased an MX 922 after my MP570's printhead died. I like it better in that:

1) It has 2 separate paper trays, so I can print paper from 1, and shipping labels from the other.
2) It has a paper feeder for copying.
3) It is faster than the MG6620, which my wife uses in her office.

It also can fax, not that I will use that.

The generic ink for my MX was more than the MG generic ink, but the cartridges are quite a bit larger.
My guess is that they will last longer, and ink cost will be similar.

I have not done a side-by-side compare on photos, but my guess is that the wife's MG will be superior. I don't print a lot of photos, so no big deal. I can use hers when needed.

Of course, I probably would have bought this as it is about 1/.2 of what I paid for the MX922 a couple weeks ago.

Believe you have to use the Canon app on the phone to print to the printer (via NFC? )
