Thread Details

hi all, i have a problem with some PS2 games ive been wanting to try, 2 of the games r scratched. i put in one of the games on my PS2 console, and it cant be read. i use the toothpaste method, but still the game cant be read. ive given up hope, since these games cannot be read, i thought about recycling the games, but NOOOO, these games im sure can still be refurbished enough to be played again. meaning i might as well give up the games to someone(who is a super expert in repairing and refurbishing games) who can hopefully refurbish them and keep for themselves. contact me asap.

Do you have any local game stores around by you? Some of them may have disc buffing machines. The one local store chain here has such a machine. It makes them look brand new most times.

Those kind of machines can fix most games that're scratched. However you need to be careful that your games aren't TOP scratched. If the label side of the games is scratched up then it might just be game over for them.

From my own experiences, he uses and abuses the sites he is a member of. He cares about no one but himself. If there's a deal ANYWHERE, he is the person to buy 100x of whatever it is to resell for profit, and usually get the deal pulled or canceled.

He lives near me. A couple years ago, he bought five copies of a game on clearance at target closest to me. Bragged about it here then soon found out the trade value wasn't worth a 'flip'. When I called him on it for being a scumbag for buying out the stock, he PM'ed me and told me he would now purposely return them to a target far away from me so I can't get a copy for myself.
Whine more, please.

I think he's looking to offload games that are too scratched to play in hopes someone here can refurb them. He's too emotionally attached to chuck 'em in the trash or use them as coasters.

laugh out loud The local game store here has multiple copies of MAG and Socom Confrontation for the PS3. I've told them repeatedly that the only use for those now is as coasters. Yet they still have them sitting there. shake head If anything they could use the cases from them as spares for other games. Guess they're hoping somebody will be a sucker and pay them $4-6 for those games.

i guess i might as well buy replacements if the games r really dead, better than throwing them away.

You should definitely check in your local area for someone with a game store. They may indeed have a resurfacing machine that could bring those games back to being like new or at least playable.

If all else fails though and the titles aren't some more sought after titles(Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2, etc) you could possibly replace the games with ones from a Gamestop store.

Yeah. Sometimes their stuff is in atrocious condition(like the copy of Wheelman I got 'free' with my slim PS3 last week or sovomit) but as long as you take the time to check them while in store you should be able to find copies cheap enough to replace yours.
