Wireless Cell Phone Charing S6

dealgate 6,368 1,085 September 25, 2015 at 12:30 PM
I wireless charge my S6 edge at night and it charges to 100% and then stops charging and starts to discharge. I have gotten it at just 79% in the morning (typically in the 80 something %). I know this is a problem with the wireless charging but is there a solution to it? It's annoying.

Remove the phone from it's case

Use tasker or similar to change settings to reduce battery discharge when you place it on the wireless charger by disabling wifi, bluetooth, daydream, background data/sync, etc.

App updates could be a factor too.

That is not a problem with wireless charging...maybe your wireless charger, but that is not something inherent to all Qi chargers.
I have used a Qi charger for the last 2.5 years as nearly my sole form of charging (I plug in when in the car and on vacations) and when my phone gets to 100%, the charger will start to basically trickle charge. The charging light will turn off for 15 minutes, then turn back on, then back off, then back on.

What charger do you have?

It charges to 100% and then stops charging. If you are losing ~ 20% battery life by the time you get to it, you will want to determine what apps are causing the drain and do something about that or use a plug-in charger. Those are your only two options that I'm aware of.
