Jeep Patriot - Thumbs Down

Thread Details

We bought a brand new 4x4 Jeep Patriot about 4 months ago and have had nothing but issues.
So first, make sure if you do decide to buy one that you get it where you live! They do not honor warranties everywhere. We bought ours in Tucson because we happen to be there. But we live 1.5 hours away. So every time we have a problem, we are forced to go to Tucson because they will not transfer the warranty.
So we got a flat tire. We went up and fixed it in Tucson. They did not do it right so we had to go back to Tucson. We were told that if it can be fixed, they will fix it but they will not give us a new tire. Thankfully, they did give us a new tire.
It has started making this rattle sound from the muffler. We asked them to look at it and they forgot. So we have to make another appt in Tucson to get it looked at.
We went to start it yesterday and it did this weird "over" start. Like ti kept on turning over the engine, even though the engine was on.
This Keep has 6,000 original miles on it!
Buyer beware.

Sounds like an issue with that particular dealer, not with Jeep.

All manufacturer warranties on new vehicles are honored at any dealer across the US, so not sure what line of BS that dealer fed you, but just take it to your closest dealer for service.

Even if you bought an extended warranty from that dealer, the original manufacturer's warranty is honored everywhere.

We have been trying to get that darned warranty moved. Thank you for the advice. We will continue to try because the hour and half drive is horrendous. The Jeep is brand new and just absolutely falling apart. I mean, even a radio button has fallen off. It was just poorly made with cheap parts.

If the Jeep is brand new then you don't have to get the warranty moved because it's already valid at any authorized Jeep dealership in the country. You don't need permission; just take it to another dealer.

That aside, the Patriot comes up a lot on the various vehicle forums I frequent and people seem to have a lot of issues with them even when new. :/

I've never heard of a car manufacturer's warranty being tied to a specific dealership. Who would buy a new car with a warranty like that?

Just take it to any Jeep dealership, and they should honor the warranty without a problem.
