I've seen the other posts but wanted to clarify those who are with AT&T (NEXT Plan Only).

This deal is YMMV because some Costco locations have dropped AT&T as a wireless provider, or offer different promotions for their local marketing region.

If you have AT&T, and are seeking to upgrade or buy a new iPhone 6S from Costco, here are the following perks if you choose to purchase at a Costco (versus another place like BestBuy):
  • $100 Mail-in Costco Credit (6-8 weeks, only usable at Costco. Can NOT be applied to your iPhone 6s same-day purchase)
  • Portable Battery Charger
  • Taxes waived on the device purchase

We can keep this list going for our fellow SD'ers...

I can confirm for the Houston Location, the following are designated providers for AT&T which offer this deal:

Houston
  • West Katy - 281-347-9928
  • Woodlands

Both locations at this moment are OOS until Oct/Nov... but hopefully this will help you do your shopping when that time comes.

Updated: This applies for NEXT Plan only. Only AT&T can provide iPhone 6s at the upgraded price in-store for your traditional 2 yr contracted plans.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Costcos are always out of stock... I could never buy it there.

I think that only works if you have the iphone 6 and use applepay to pay for the device. I dont know of a way to get the 22% discount using a 5s.

Any ideas?

Yes - I still do the 2 yr at a time upgrade. Usually upgrade the 2nd year, request a unlock on my old phone, then turn around and sell my old phone on craigslist.

Can you elaborate more on Discover IT?
But I heard that you have to upgrade through ATT store if you wanna upgrade 2 year contract these days.

New Discover IT card holders get double cashback their first year. Discover has a promotion of 10% additional cashback if you pay using your device thru applepay. So effectively you get 11% thru end of year if you pay with applepay, double that for 1st year bonus and thats 22%.

Buy the phone, activate, add your Discover IT, then return/rebuy using Apple Pay.

If you don't yet have a Discover IT card, remember to use the $50 signup link (which should get doubled to an extra $50 at the end of the year automatically).

For Tmobile.. I am thinking, Buy the phone via Jump on Demand (approx $130 discount) and then use applepay to make a $1000 payment on account using applepay in the tmobile store. Anyone do this? Effectively getting another 220 off.

Thoughts?

Apple Pay works with Apple Watch if you have a 5s.

Yeah you definitely can renew your 2 year AT&T contract almost anywhere AT&T is provided. Costco, BestBuy, Target too I believe.

Can only renew a 2 year contract through AT&T, either online, by phone, or in store

Assuming they'll let you do this, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

If you have T-mobile, their JoD discount is great. I'd do that if I wasn't tied to AT&T.

Sorry OP. AT&T changed their policy of only allowing 2-year plans at AT&T B&M's or on their website. They no longer allow 2-year plans at 3rd party stores with subsidized phones. Unless Costco/BestBuy/Target want to eat a ~$400 fee on price of phone to allow a customer to get a $600 phone for $200, which is highly unlikely. 3rd party stores now only market AT&T Next plans. It's all over Google.

That's correct. 2 yr upgrades directly through AT&T only now.
