Has anyone else started getting phone calls from Amazon packages???

This has now happened twice in the last three weeks where some carrier has been calling me and my SO regarding package deliveries to our residence. The first time they called her and I freaked out about it because my UPS app didn't show a package being delivered and I read about possible break-ins. She went home and sure enough, it was a package delivery. I just had another call and sure enough, it was another package delivery.

When I track it looks like the carrier is indeed AMZL_US. I'm confused has Amazon started doing deliveries themselves???

EDIT: If the Mods think this is more appropriate for the lounge please feel free to move it. hug

It's Amazon Logistics. I'm assuming it works like Lasership with contract delivery drivers.

Did they call you just to say it's been delivered or did they have questions? I got a call once but it was because they couldn't find my apartments front office, seems overkill to call just to say it's delivered.

They called to say that they are delivering it and ask if someone will be home, which was my major red flag alert. I lied and said, someone will be there in 15 minutes you can just leave it at the door. 3 minutes later Amazon shows it as being delivered. I'm guessing they just don't have their crap together, because it's majorly creepy. I wish they would stop calling!!!!!

Freaked me out the first time it happened, as well. That was several months ago. Apparently these new drivers aren't nearly as seasoned/familiar with the route/homes as are UPS and FedEx drivers. Give 'em another year and they probably won't be calling you any more. It's also probably Amazon trying to insure lower fraud/theft rates.
