Got in on this 2 weeks ago. Only catch is you have to use their router at least for the installation. It is $9.99 per month extra.

Yeah, when you factor in the modem cost, unless you need the 50 UPLOAD speeds, TWC with BYOD is better deal most of the time. FIOS modems are limited.

It's sad that people have no idea what real upload speed should be because lack of choices. Cable monopolies succeeded through their campaigns convincing people to accept the current speeds and prices...

What does one need to upload at 50Mbps?

I pay $29.99 all in for 60/5. No taxes no modem fees.

is it worth it for $10 more for 45Mpbs. Not for me since I download 100x more than I upload.

Earthlink Extreme 50/5 on Time Warner ( I actually get consistent 60/5 on OOKLA speedtests)

Bought a Motorola 8 Channel Modem for $20 off Ebay.

What exactly is that supposed to mean?

The vast majority of people care exponentially more about download speed vs upload. And rightfully so. Outside of very limited activities like sending email attachments, uploading pictures and videos to places like Facebook, etc., most people spend most of their time downloading at extremely high ratios to uploads. So it's in the consumer's best interest to have faster download speeds. ISPs on the other hand want to have more traffic entering vs leaving their network to ensure better terms on the peering agreements they have with other carriers. So it's in their interests to have people upload less. The people who are most concerned with upload speeds on a consumer grade Internet circuit are generally doing things against the ToS anyway (torrents, running servers, etc.). With circuits like fiber and metro-e, the system is designed for symmetrical speeds. However, and most importantly, with cable/DSL technology, there are inherent limitations with providing a large number of people high speed reliable upload speeds. This is one of the main reasons why these services are, and have always been, generally asymmetric.

There is no hidden conspiracy.

I see $34.99 per month with two years contracts which is same price as OP's monthly rate. My house is not prewired.

How much tax comes out to be?
