Never received Slickdeals rebate card for NAZTECH Vault Waterproof cases

I just called American Express because I hadn't received my 20.00 rebate card for the 2 Naztech phone cases. According to my tracking number it was mailed out on 8-28-15.

After being on hold for a good while, the rep. tells me that the card was mailed and already used. I asked him where it was used and he states it was signed by me and used at such and such address.

I ask him what the address is where it was used. I google the address and it's a private home that is for sale. Whoever used the card wasn't me but they signed my name. I know no one at the address where it was used.

American Express says I need to wait 2 more weeks while they look into it and they will contact me by mail of their findings.

Would they have my signatures there to compare this card with my other? I'm not sure how they can prove it was stolen. How can someone use at a personal address?

What are my chances they don't issue me a card for this rebate? Heck, if I was going to scam anyone, I would have done it on a higher monetary card.

Thanks for the reply. It was used in my town at someone's private home that is for sale. I don't understand how that happened though. How is the transaction showing that address? If you used the card to purchase something, wouldn't it show where it was used to make the purchase?

they should be able to tell you where it was used. how far is the home address from your home address same #'s different street perhaps?

The address they gave me where it was used is not even a 1/2 mile from me. It's actually .3 miles from my house. That is just odd. Our street address numbers are different. I'm 107 and they are 306 and totally different street names.

I feel certain my mail lady doesn't deliver to that house. Funny how it was used at a house so close to mine. Maybe I'll walk over there and if I see someone in the yard, I'll ask them why they stole my card. lol

I'm still not understanding why it was showing that address as being where it was used. That's got me curious.

But the American Express guy told me today that it was used by me at the other person's address so maybe someone forged my signature?

I'll let American Express figure it out, but I hope they will issue me another. I hope they don't think I'm trying to scam them.

This sounds fishy. Amex or this story. When has amex made people sign for a rebate card? $20 is a very low rebate. I get stacks delivered every month -A pack of rebates and no signature. Plus, the mailman now has a pen/ tablet or pink paper slip(3996) that must be signed/kept. Its not available for your viewing if u dont know the tracking numbers. The post office can see more indept detail than what the sender/receiver will see on the usps site. Anyway. The address and the envelope's address w match. The carrier should notice. He/she reviews it because they have to fill the slip out before someone signs it. Then ask for that person listed to sign it. Anyone, can sign, if its not specific and designated by the sender. Sadly, the PO is not in the business of screening folks or checking IDs in the field.

Again..r u saying theses phone cards are sent out and require a signature? If, so ask them for proof of your sig/address. Otherwise, its a a mistake on their part or the PO.
A mailpiece w no special delivery is a piece that is suppose to be delived to the address mailbox. That's it. Amex needs to resend u a rebate card

I might be wrong, but I believe OP is saying that the place the card was used required a signature, which the unknown person signed under OP's name (like how some CC transactions requires a signature).

Again, I might be wrong.
