I was able to get $200 for a Palm Pre even though it had $0 trade value. I was denied at one Best Buy (they said $0 value phones weren't eligible,) but on my second attempt the rep knew how to process the Pre as a recycle, and it still popped up with the $200 offer. Not sure if prepaid phones would be eligible; the fine print does not specify. I'd think if you could get them to process as recycle they may work.
My line was eligible for contract upgrade price, so I went that route. Rep said it was available with a lease plan as well, but would be reflected as a $7ish/mo discount (which comes out to somewhat less than $200 over 24mo.) He also mentioned a $10/mo lease credit for those on "legacy" discontinued plans... I believe you could start a lease deal even if you aren't eligible for a contract upgrade. But the lease options all just make my head hurt.
Hope this helps someone, seems like a great deal for existing Sprint customers. I've been upgrading every year between SO's line and mine and I don't recall a deal like this so close to the release date; I think last year was $100 for any smartphone (also traded a palm pre) a few weeks after release.
