For those that don't wanna read through the thread: Yes, it has issues, yes its not your oh so perfect phone but here's what I have so far:

1. It does activate on RingPlus or any MVNO that's under Sprint check it with that service's BYOD checker.

2. There is a working root (sort of) reason being sort of because this phone doesn't get enough traction so not so many dev's are working on it.

3. There is a potential of this phone working on GSM but here's to looking at the Dev's that are willing to poke and prod. (Further evidence is that there is a Japanese version of this device that goes under 305SH and it's been unlocked for GSM usage.)

Enjoy!

Mid Range $50 phone, not too bad.

Was $7x.xx yesterday and was going to pick it up. Seems to go in and out of stock. They still want $134.99 for the Sprint variant for some reason.
I think these will work on Ring Plus too

$20 more than the LG Volt
I cant find a store that sells a $40 LG Volt anywhere. This phone also has a larger screen, higher res, more ram, better cpu etc. Better deal for only $20 more.

I kind of doubt it but would this work for RingPlus?

seems like only major negative is 2040 mAh battery on Sharp vs 3000 mAh for Volt.

Sprint offered to give me this phone for free recently because they're shutting off WiMax next month and my old WiMax phone will only have 3G. But bad reviews and seeing it in a Sprint store convinced me to pass on it. It seems cheaply made and easy to break, and I didn't care for the sharp (no pun intended) corners. I might end up going for it anyway if the offer still stands as a stopgap while I decide which LTE phone to get, then maybe try to resell it. I'd hate not having 4G as I use it now and then to tether my laptop (which is now allowed by Sprint's TOS).
