How can I have search show expired deals?

LSoares1 10 18 October 8, 2015 at 04:02 AM
I'm not talking about having expired deals still display with the account settings option.

For example, there was a Craftsman 5/8 hose on Frontpage about 2 days ago listed for 12.99. when I do a search for Craftsman 5/8, it does not come up..

One of the useful features of this site was being able to search historical deals. So when i need something, i can figure out if the price of that item has been significantly lower in the past and with which frequency the item goes on sale.

good morning,

did your search include the "deal talk" forum? that's where deals are moved when they are expired. the options are in the left sidebar in both the classic and new versions of search (see below images). is this the deal you were looking for? for now, it should show up as the first result when the dt forum is included in the search parameters Smilie.

Hi, thanks for letting me know where expired deals go. But can you tell me how to search Deal Talk forum using the android app? if I go into that forum, there is no search button. if I use the search button (magnifying glass), it doesn't let me select the deal talk forum.. can this only be done outside the app?

you're welcome! as far as the app is concerned i'm not sure. if it's not an available option yet, i know there are more changes in the works. someone on the mobile team would have more insight, however Smilie.

Hi - We will be enhancing search extensively in an upcoming app release. We have just launched a 100% redesigned Android app and will be launching the same for iOS very shortly, so we've been very busy! The emphasis has been to great a fast, stable app with a more straightforward design that we can use for a foundation for all the great enhancements and new features we have slated to come. Search is at the top of that list. Stay tuned and check out the new apps! Thanks!
