Thread Details

Sorry, not truly a freebie, but I thought this was pretty useful for all of us iPhone users who get 0 bars in buildings with WiFi. Enable by going to Settings => Phone => Wi-Fi Calling

didnt work for me. the settings menu told me to call in. "Oops! We can't turn on Wi-Fi calling for your account..." They probably wont let me have wifi calling since I have unlimited data, just like I can't use facetime over lte.

Evidently not available for everyone. I have an iPhone with iOS 9.0.2, AT&T, but there is no Wi-Fi option showing. Maybe because it's too old? (iPhone 5)

I have grandfathered unlimited data and I was just able to turn it on no problems. I also can facetime without wifi.

Ya iPhone 5 isn't compatible with wifi calling. Didn't work with T-Mobile wifi calling when it came out. Sorry

I got it fixed. Just as I had suspected, I needed the iPhone specific data plan.

Just read it will not ever work with an iPhone 4s. This includes the rumored advances of 9.1 coming with the new larger iPad.

Any one know how texts work? I imagine you'll be able to send, but will you be receiving them live?
