Test VPN Service

corenom 4,391 998 October 11, 2015 at 06:09 PM
Hello, fellow SDers, I'm in the process of launching a new VPN service, and I'm looking for a few additional users to test the service. I'm putting 20 free user accounts for you guys and all I'm asking in return is to let me know if you see any issues or were we can improve on.

Problem 1: I used a long password, with upper case, lower case, numbers and characters.

Error message: # VPN Password value is not valid # Confirm VPN Password value is not valid #

Your sign in page only says that the password has to be at least 6-characters, but it doesn't list any other limitations. Also, the error message gives no clue as to what the problem with the password might be.

Kinda makes the whole "We have over seven years of experience in providing unrestricted, unfiltered, secure internet access. " seem like a bit of an overstatement. Wink

Why do you have to create 2 passwords is one for the web interface and the other vpn auth? Does the second password prompt override the first? Why not combine it all into one step?

Clearly indicate required fields.

7 employees with 1 year of experience? Stick Out Tongue kidding

AUP link is same as ToS, consider using a # target to jump to that section.

because maybe you want person A to do the billing stuff and person B to use the VPN - i.e. you don't want the person with the VPN to have access to the account/website

not sure how you can claim to have no logs but be based in the US, also name looks fake (super common first + last name) - not sure I really trust you all that much for the VPN, as far as not collecting information about what is sent over the connection

I understand that much, what I'm trying to say is if your going to make someone create a password twice clearly explain the difference between the two.

Agreed as much as I'd like to believe they're piping logs to /dev/null, how much can you really trust any vpn service. It's probably an improvement from your average unsecured wifi and could bypass some geo restrictions for steaming content.

I don't think the US actually has any data retention laws, but I'm sure logs are just an NSL away. Many European countries actually have mandatory data retention laws.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Password clarification & TOS/AUP linkin: I'll fix that shortly.

Two accounts: It's to allow one person to do the billing and then provide VPN accounts to whoever.

For VPN Activity, we do send all VPN activity to /dev/null, there is no reason for us to keep logs since there is no data retention law in the US.
