Best Bang for Buck Android Smartphone?

malicxv 492 169 October 12, 2015 at 09:33 AM
Alright... so.. I had an LG G2 and broke it this weekend. Need a replacement.

Whats the best bang for bucks sub $400 Android phone?

Needs to work on AT&T.
Preferably rootable, but not running custom ROMs isnt a killer.
Decent battery life.
Open to refurb/Used.

How does the Nexus 6 stack up at $350 (on Amazon) compared to the rest in this price range?
LG G2 is around $150 give or take. Could possibly go that route again. But perhaps its worth the extra couple hundred to go newer?

What do you guys suggest?

I have been considering the nexus 6 or Samsung note 3 used or refurbished. My husband broke his brand new lg g2 last week. Have you made any decisions? I also saw asus and a few others doing Google search for best android phone...

if battery life is important to you don't go with the Nexus 6. That thing eats battery fast.
Maybe the 2015 Nexus 5 would be a better choice. \

Nexus 6 at 350 is a steal (I've had mine since last year) , just be warned of the battery. Not a big deal if you have a charger close by.

Moto x- 2015. $399 unlocked for any carrier. seems like a winning deal. or moto G 2015 is cheaper and is well rated.

Depends on what you want\like. Galaxy S4s or S5s used in good condition are fairly decent buys on Swappa imo. Same for the Note 3 or 4.

Thanks for the responses guys...

I picked up a Nexus 6 for ~$250.

Should get it tomorrow. I strongly considered the Note 4, but, with Sammy they're slow to roll out updates and drop support fairly quick. Plus all the crapware they install (albeit SOME of it is good).

My Fiance got the Note 5 a few weeks ago, she hates it because its so laggy. Frown

I just got a HTC Desire 520 and recommend it. Not sure how hard it is to root.
