Thread Details

I have a PS3 with the black official wireless headphones. I have had them for years! Love it. I have a ps4 that I have a nyko charging port so both controller ports are taken so I cannot use the headset because of the dongle without removing the charger

Is there a truly wireless ps4 sony or other headset that doesn't have to have a dongle that requires a USB port?

Black Friday is coming so I'm trying to find what brands/models people use if there is ones that don't require a usb spot! Thanks

They don't have cords. It's a wireless headset, PS3 one has a dongle you plug in. Wanting same kind but without the plug. I don't know if they exist without the usb plug in.

Do they make these without a usb plug in? Isn't the ps4 Bluetooth ready? I figured they would have a Bluetooth pairing feature headset where pairs to it

I recall pairing a generic Bluetooth phone headset to the PS3 before for this. Have you tried pairing a Bluetooth device?

Just remembered that using a Bluetooth headset only gives you voice, not game audio.

My solution was to use a set of the Elite Wireless Headphones. The USB dongle on that had an aux jack and could be powered by anything. I would take audio from the TV, plug it into the usb dongle and power the dongle from a port behind the TV. This gave me audio without having to leave the stick plugged into the console.

I did this since I wanted to use my headset with my xbox. Using the aux jack disables the enhancements though. Sad trade off.

I don't know if the USB dongle for the Gold's have this option though.

I don't think we're speaking the same language. You can plug headsets into the controller on the PS4. This does not require a USB dongle.

I didn't know I could plug headsets into a controller.

I want the fancy surround sound headsets though. I wonder if you can plug those into the controller too.

I think that's what the official PS4 ones are like.

The Sony PS4 headsets are not wireless, they require a dongle. There is no 100% wireless solution for PS4. You'll either need the sony ones that plug in a USB dongle, or ones that plug into the controller. This entire console generation took a step backwards.

What is the best controller remote? So I can't get a remote to play sound and chat thru remote? That's how I prefer it.

my current oficial headset doesnt have a port to connect to the controller or cord since its wireless, is there a good headset for use with the game remote? (also does it play the music thru the headset connected to remote or just voice) because I like the 5.1 or 7.1 surround headphones.

Yes it does...

It's right there next to the micro USB port.

EDIT: Unless you mean the older "official" headset, in which case, I'm not sure if it has a 3.5mm jack or not. But as you can see, the new ones do have it.
