Guitar hero Live is $90 and Rockband 4 with Guitar bundle is $129. I got confused because of the picture lol.

You must not be doing it right. Try turning the guitar volume all the way up or play the note better.

Instruments may be "fake", but not everyone wants to play a real guitar. I would rather relax and play casually, rather than have sore fingers and calluses.

Plus, even though the list of downloadable songs looks good for rocksmith, it still has zero downloadables from my three favorite groups.

Have you seen the custom DLC content for Rocksmith created by the fans?? There are thousands and thousands of custom songs made for the PC version, and quite a chunk for those with modded 360/PS3's.

Most are pretty good, thanks to the community feedback and people working together to have accurate tabs for songs. Many songs are multi instruments, and alot have Dynamic Difficulty settings.

What groups are you looking for? You'd be hard pressed to find a mainstream artist who hasn't been included. There's even plenty of 'non-rock' songs and movie/game soundtrack songs created.
