Thread Details

just got an email from eBay offering one month free eBay store subscription. obviously YMMV but check quick because it's limited to 1st 50k. nice time to try out the store and see if you save enough on FVF to justify it.
I need to sell an expensive item so it comes at a great time!
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

But what does the store cost per month?

I got that e-mail too, but my fees are normally $50 give or take. They say the could drop the fees by "up to" 4%, but I would need to sell A LOT more before that works out. I also got a offer from Amazon today too..

It's confusing like shit. Some categories are stayin the same while others can be as low as 4%. Screw them

Basic store is $20 a month, or $15 a month if you buy a whole year.

4% fees for computers, tablets, laptops.
6% fees for photos and other stuff
Most categories are still like 9% though.

IMHO, avoid ebay as much as you can. They're greedy, side on buyer must of the case and f***k up seller as well.

maybe not 4% but a discount from %10 (whatever the rate is for cell phones. I think %6). and it easily pays for itself

It's also a great way for the average seller to reach millions of potential customers. I've sold hundreds of things on Ebay and have never been messed with by Ebay.

It sure beats meeting unknown on Craigslist.

So, we have an option to rent for one month only , right. Then we can resubscribe if we want sometime later?

Also add the 2.9% paypal fees on top.

But for powersellers, nothing comes close to Ebay. You also get a 20% off final value fees and postal discounts.

I do exactly what you are saying, however know that ebay will prorate your first month and also charge you the next month as well, which you can't get rid of. You will be paying more than $20.

Your billing period. Mine is the 1st, but I think they also do mid-month billing statements.

to get 20% off final values fees you need to keep Top rated status which is very hard
