I know that this will probably be met with a flurry of TD's from people who don't "get" the need for an expensive remote, but for some of us this is the only way to get a deal on a brand new released product from Harmony. I scored one of these for the same price recently directly from Logitech, but this offer is open to anyone with an existing Harmony remote that would like to trade it in for $100 of of a New Elite!

(YMMV)

Multiple people inclusing myself have used a "movers coupon" to get it down to $225 plus tax. Also, myself and others have used Applepay with discover to get an additional 11-22% back on the back end.

Where are the details of the trade in? I am looking at the flyer and I don't see any mention of this

It says that it excludes the 350 (SKU 5457611) in the fine print but doesn't say anything about other models. I'm wondering whether I can trade in my Harmony 300, it's worth a shot.

Very tempting! I've got an older Harmony in the drawer with stuck buttons and my primary Harmony One is also getting towards the end of its life.

I've been holding off upgrading the One, but this Elite model looks to be a worthy successor.

Fine print from Bestbuy.com:

Harmony Remote Recycle and Save Program

When you bring your old Harmony remote into a Best Buy store to be recycled, you can save $100 on a Harmony Elite remote or $50 on a Home Control remote.

Valid 10/18/15–11/21/15 in store only. Customer upon recycling of a Harmony remote (excludes model 350 SKU 5457611) will receive one $100 recycle coupon toward the purchase of a Harmony Elite remote (SKU 4314901) at regular retail price, or a $50 recycle coupon toward the purchase of Harmony Home Control (SKU 8201008 black) at regular retail price. Only one coupon per purchase and can only be used once. Limit of one coupon per household. Recycled remotes will not be returned under any circumstances. Not available in all locations and some
stores may have additional limitations.

Thanks OP! I have an old 650 that I just transferred the settings to a 700 that I bought last BF. Looking to pair this with my Smartthings V2 hub.

I have Harmony 650 remote, reallygood remote been using it for more than 3 years and now its start giving up.
The issue in BB Deal its valid only two remotes Harmony Elite or Home Control, wish it could be on 650 or 700 with $50 savings, either way I will try at BB Store and see if I don't get fussy rep I could score one.

Nice. I have an ancient non-functioning 659 that has to be at least 10 years old. But I think I'm gonna wait for a sale or a price match opportunity before jumping. The Touch series was a mess. The Elite doesn't seem quite perfect, but looks like a big improvement over the Touch line. Thanks for the info, OP!

I have probably owned nearly every single Harmony remote to date. My initial quibble with the Ultimate line was like 99% of other peoples complaint. Who the HELL places transport buttons on the top of a remote!!! However, I was unaware of the implementation of "gestures" and that remedied the issue I had with the remote. It was soooooo much easier to just swipe your finger across to fast forward and back the other way. I do like the Elite a little bit better though as it fits in my hand better than the Ultimate did. I have a few small quibbles with it as well, bot nothing that is a deal breaker..

I dont get it, what is a Transport Button? I have an ultimate I may trade in for this, but I have never even heard of a transport button...
